An In-Depth Look At Me As A Vendor
And How It Applies To Your Celebration
I Created This Page To Help Answer The Single Most Important Question That You May Have:
Why Should I Hire You As My Event DJ?
In a vast landscape comprised of vendors, choosing the right Professional DJ and Master of Ceremony is a daunting, time-consuming task. From referrals and recommendations to browsing the Internet for vendors, this process can be overwhelming.
Hopefully, after reading through the candid, straight forward contents of this page, you will be comfortable and confident enough to narrow your choice down to one.
YOUR VOWS ARE SACRED, THUS MINE TO YOU
AND MY PROMISE OF SERVICE EXCELLENCE
Let’s Start With You And Me
If you place a very high value on developing a close relationship with your vendor, then I look forward to working with you. From our very first handshake to the moment when the event reaches its final crescendo, your interactions will be with me. Part of the reason for that is, I'm an independent operator. While I have been subcontracted by other DJ agencies, I'm not an employee DJ. What I am is a strict quality control person, which can be achieved by doing fewer events like Weddings and being directly hands-on at each one.

In comparison, other vendors will proudly display awards and other distinctions on their websites, and rightfully so. For me, the incredible feedback and cherished memories of every event that I engage in are what occupy my virtual mantle. This is what drives me to accomplish service excellence.
All told, I have the sincere privilege of serving as the DJ, MC (or both) for a small number of Weddings and other milestone events each year, which allows me to give each Family and Couple unsurpassed attention. As a result of this, I can make bold claims about my level of expertise and service, and back up those claims.
THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY IS REMEMBERED
LONG AFTER THE SWEETNESS OF LOW PRICE IS FORGOTTEN
There Are No Do-Overs
In a span of 4 hours (as a typical example), the DJ will be at the helm, navigating the success of your event. Remember this: the DJ is the architect of the energy that will ultimately fill the room!
In a alarmingly large number of cases, many celebrants will hand this duty over to someone other than an established professional. A monumentally amazing experience is at risk if you consider this option. Unfortunately, a very low-budget DJ, hobby DJ or friend-of-a-friend do not always possess the necessary skills to perform at a Wedding Reception or Sweet 16 and may lack the technical acumen with audio and lighting equipment. More importantly, playing the right music, at the right time, with the right transition takes years to master, and cannot be taught overnight or even in months. Simply put, the DJ is the lifeline between you, your guests and the dance floor. One of the most important days of your life should not be left to chance and is most certainly not a training session for a DJ!
To be fair, not all low-budget DJ’s are bad. The truth is, like may other types of businesses, it's part of the industry competition. The way to create separation between competitors can be defined with one word: EXPERIENCE. Add on work ethic, integrity, commitment and professionalism, and now you have a game changer.
Working with an independent operator like me, with over 25 years of hands-on experience, is like having additional Insurance for your event.
THE RIGHT PRESENTATION CAN ACHIEVE THE GREATEST RESULTS

Did you know that rarely do people ask the DJ about the audio or lighting gear, including type, physical condition or about a contingency plan if the equipment fails? They just assume that the DJ has that all covered.
I personally own all of my gear, and since this gear is a direct representation of me, I can assure you that it will be at a minimum, impeccable. My gear is modern, tested, and is optimized for any environment. Inferior audio equipment can lead to distortion, poor music playback and may not be sufficient for the size and scope of your Reception. A set-up that has visible cracks, signs of serious damage, worn cabling, stained covers, etc., will appear in your photography. All of this matters once you begin to narrow down your choice for a Wedding DJ.
It’s The Small Things That Also Count
I’m pretty big on presentation, so let me share with you some of things that you will NOT see at your wedding reception:
-
My arrival. Usually 2 hours prior to the event start time; to set-up and perform my system of checks and re-checks.
-
All the physical connections to my gear. I use a variety of matching equipment wraps, skirts, etc. for a clean, polished look.
-
Excessive signage or banners that identifies me or my business.
-
My business card or any other promotional material on the guest tables, for the same reason as the banners and signage. I'm not there to solicit my business. I'm there to serve you!
Covered For The Unexpected
This is another consideration that most Couples and Families do not think or inquire about, and is becoming more and more relevant today: DJ Liability Insurance.
DJ Liability Insurance covers a DJ for compensation a person may be awarded as a result of personal injury or damage to their belongings from perceived negligence by the DJ. This includes legal costs and other expenses related to defending a claim.
With so much equipment involved, there is a possibility, however unlikely, that someone may trip or become injured by a falling piece of equipment. We live in a rather litigious society, so there is a chance that the injured party will file an injury lawsuit. Without the DJ’s liability insurance, it may be that you will have to pay for some or all of the costs, including compensation, when the matter is adjudicated.
Along those same lines, many establishments will not allow any outside vendor to conduct business at their facility without proof of liability insurance, effectively limiting the places where uninsured DJ's can work. In this instance, your choice of venue can be adversely affected.
Needless to say, I take every precaution when setting up my equipment. Nothing is left to chance. My Certificate of Liability Insurance is valid, up to date, and a copy can be furnished for the venue upon request. Having a COI allows me to work at any establishment, so your top choice becomes my top choice. This is just another example of how I keep on top of my business practices, and it should give you a comfortable piece of mind.
The Next Step
Let me first say Thank You for reading through all of this. It is a lot of information to absorb, and I appreciate your time. There is the chance however, that we may never go any further than your visit to my website. My hope is that you will walk away with some helpful insight about choosing an Event DJ and a Master of Ceremony. At the very least, you should have gained a very good sense of how I do things.
